ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
My name is Barbara Moll. I've taken photos all my life but the daily grind meant I had to squeeze it in along with everything else. There never seemed to be enough time. Fortunately, I was able to leave the working world and relocate to Montana. Now I spend many days photographing the amazing sites and sights of the West. I live near Yellowstone National Park which has incredible photo opportunities.
Glacier National Park is just up the road with more splendid views and exciting wildlife. And I love photographing in the Tetons and all the parks of the Southwest.
I'm often asked how close I was to a specific subject, especially wildlife. I use good gear so I can maintain a safe and respectful distance. Yellowstone requires a minimum of 100 yards for predators and 25 yards for other species. Even those distances can sometimes be too close for comfort. I've seen and heard about many close calls just so the photographer (amateur or pro) could get that perfect photo. Take my advice - don't do it.
Check out the Cameras & Gear page for details on my equipment.
